Nick Kyrgios' wait for a comeback keeps getting longer as the Australian pulled out of the US Open, scheduled to start on August 28.
Hence, he has now missed all 4 grand slams this year including the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and now the US Open.
No specific reason for his absence was immediately given by the US Tennis Association but he has been nursing a wrist injury which kept the Australian out of Wimbledon as well.
Kyrgios has played in just one official singles match all season — a loss in Stuttgart, Germany, in June.
The 28-year-old has been unable to build on his sole grand slam final appearance after withdrawing from the Australian Open in January due to a knee injury which required surgery.
