Heavy winds in Friday's qualifying session at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix saw at least one grandstand collapse with fans exposed to stormy conditions.

A video posted by a social media user shows the exact moment a grandstand roof is ripped off and spectators begin to clamour for shelter from the lashing rains.

Formula One reacted to the weather by stopping the Q3 session.

No serious injuries have been reported by F1 according to ESPN but it was unclear how many grandstands had been affected.
