PV Sindhu wins her maiden Singapore Open title, wins a hard-fought final vs Wang Zhi Yi

PV Sindhu continued her flawless run at the Singapore Open 2022 as she defeated China's Wang Zhi Yi 21-9, 11-21, 21-15 in the summit clash on Sunday to win her maiden Singapore Open title.

Sindhu is the second Indian women's shuttler and third Indian overall to win the Singapore Open title. Moreover, it's her third title of the 2022 season after winning the Syed Modi International and Swiss Open BWF Super 300 titles.

The 2-time Olympic medallist won the opening game easily before her Chinese opponent bouonced back in the 2nd. But Sindhu staged a brilliant comeback in the final game to win it 21-15 and clinched her maiden Super 500 title of the year 2022.
