'Extremely disappointed', said a heartbroken World No. 1 Novak Djokovic, who lost the legal battle against the Australian government over his visa cancellation.
Djoko who landed in the visa soup soon after arrival on Jan 6 said 'I am extremely disappointed with the Court ruling to dismiss my application for which means I cannot stay in Australia and participate in the Australian Open.'
Adding that he respected the ruling, the 9 time Aus Open champion said that he will cooperate with the relevant authorities in relation to his departure from the country.
He also thanked his supporters, friends, and family and went on to say that he has been uncomfortable about being the focus of the past weeks and requested that the focus should now shift to the event.
The 20-time Grand Slam Champion who has been in the limelight for the past month has finally decided to take some time off to rest and recuperate. As per the ruling, he will not be participating in teh Australian Open which begins on Monday.
