Australian Open Champion Rafael Nadal's long-time rivals Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic who were left behind by the Spaniard in the Slam race were quick to congratulate him for his historic achievement.
While both players did not take part in this year's Australian Open, they remain tied at 20 Grand Slams each.

Roger Federer took to Instagram to send his heartfelt congratulations on becoming the first man to win 21 Grand Slam singles titles. A few months ago we were joking about both being on crutches. Amazing. Never underestimate a great champion, the Swiss Maestro added who himself is nursing a knee injury added.
Lauding his dedication and fighting spirit, Federer went on to say that he is proud to share the era with him and is honoured to play a role in pushing him to achieve more.
Djoko also congratulated the 35-year-old Tennis ace and his opponent Daniil Medvedev.
Calling it an amazing achievement, the Serbian Tweeted always an impressive fighting spirit that prevailed another time. He also praised Medvedev and wrote, he gave it his all out there and played with the passion and determination we have come to expect from him.
