Sania Mirza bids farewell to Australian Open, loses in mixed-doubles quarters

Sania Mirza bade farewell to the Australian Open as India's ace tennis star and Rajeev Ram lost their mixed doubles quarterfinals match on Tuesday.

Sania, who had earlier said that the 2022 season will be the last of her career, and her American partner lost 4-6, 6-7 to the Australian pair of Jason Kubler and Jaimee Fourlis.

Sania had also lost her women's doubles 1st round match earlier in the tournament and had then said that she will retire after 2022 as the pandemic was making her take certain decisions for the well-being of herself and her family.
