Sania Mirza has decided to opt out of the US Open, the ace Indian Tennis player informed through her Instagram story.
The 35-year-old, in her story, said that she had suffered an elbow injury while playing in the National bank open in Canada 2 weeks ago and added that her scan reports that came on Monday show a tear in her tendon.
The 6-time Grand Slam winner in the women's doubles and mixed doubles category had earlier in the year announced that she would retire at the end of the 2022 season.
However, in her Instagram story, the former women's doubles World no.1 said the situation is not ideal and it will change some of her retirement plans.
