VIDEO: Kickboxer dies after collapsing inside boxing ring at Bengaluru event

A kickboxer succumbed to death after suffering a grievous injury at a kickboxing match in Bengaluru. 

The deceased has been identified as Nikhil, a 23-year-old from Mysuru district in Karnataka.

The accident took place on July 10 during a state-level K1 kickboxing championship in Bengaluru. 

As can be seen in the video from the event, Nikhil took a major blow on his face from his opponent and subsequently collapsed inside the ring. He was taken to a local hospital where he remained in a coma for two days before finally succumbing to his injuries on July 12.

Based on a complaint by Nikhil's father Suresh P, Bengaluru Police have registered a case of negligence against the organisers.
