World number 1 Ashleigh Barty made easy work in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open as she breezed past America's Jessica Pegula 6-2, 6-0 at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on Tuesday.
25-year-old Barty's approach was so dominant that she won the match in just over an hour in front of her home crowd. Pegula was no match against the Wimbledon champion as she looked helpless during the match and lost the second and final set without winning a game.
Barty will now face another American Madison Keys on Thursday in the first semifinal.
