American tennis player Danielle Collins entered the semifinals of the Australian Open after a 7-6, 6-1 win over France's Alize Cornet on Wednesday.
Collins made a stunning came back in the penultimate game of the first set by breaking French counterpart's service and thus winning the set 7-5.
Cornet lost her confidence after losing the first set in the final game as Collins broke her service early in the second set and won the set 6-1.
The 28-year-old American matched her previous best performance at the Australian Open, as she reached the semifinals in both 2018 and 2019.
It was also her 11th consecutive match win this season and her 12th overall in January.
Collins will play against former French Open champion Iga Swiatek in the semifinal.
