Andrey Rublev managed to secure a last eight place in the Australian Open after winning a rollercoaster of a match against rising star Holger Rune, beating him 6-3 3-6 6-3 4-6 7-6(11-9) in the fourth round match at the Rod Laver Arena on Monday.
Coming back from 5-0 down in the final set 10-point tiebreak, Rublev managed to win it 11-9 winning the final point with a return of serve that clipped the net and popped over, leaving the Danish wonderkid no chance.
25-year-old Ruvlev made it to the Australian Open quarter-finals for a second time and for a seventh time at Grand Slams.
