Tommy Paul beat compatriot Ben Shelton in an all-American quarter-final in the Australian Open on Wednesday.
Paul won the match 7-6, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 to enter his first-ever Grand Slam semi-final.
Having won the 3rd set, Shelton did try his best in the fourth to level the match, but he was eventually beaten 6-4 by his fellow countryman.
With the victory, Paul also become the first American to reach the Australian Open semifinals since Andy Roddick in 2009.
