Andy Murray survived a marathon five-set game against Georgia's Nikoloz Basilashvili to register his place in the second round of the Australian Open.
The Great Britain player eased past his Georgian counterpart in the first set with a 6-1 win, which lasted only 23 minutes.
However, the 21st seed Basilashvili made a stunning comeback in the second and broke Murray's service twice to win 6-3. Murray, then, won the third set 6-4 but lost the fourth in a tie-breaker. After four hours of high-class tennis from both sides, 34-year-old Murray won the last set to win the match 6-1, 3-6, 6-4, 6-7, 6-4. He will now play against Japanese qualifier Taro Daniel in the second round.
