India's Neeraj Chopra took pole position while Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem bagged silver in javelin throw at the World Athletics Championships and it was the camaraderie between the two opponents which shone throughout the competition.
It was a sight to witness as Chopra and Nadeem hugged each other after they were declared gold and silver winners respectively.
Following the medal ceremony, the two South Asian stars posed together. With the Indian tricolour his shoulders, Chopra invited Nadeem for a photo along with bronze medallist Jakub Vadlejch.
Nadeem, who was without his flag, stood next to his fellow javelin thrower, for a historic picture at the World Athletics Championships.
Chopra and Nadeem have met 9 times in their career, with the Indian leading 9-0. Despite the battle for top spot, the two have always maintained a cordial relationship on and off the field.
Before the August 27 javelin throw final, Nadeem had asserted that there is no rivalry with Neeraj Chopra. It was the Indian athlete who came to Nadeem's defense after the Pakistani suffered intense trolling following a controversy during their Tokyo Olympics meeting.
