Who would've guessed Virat Kohli and Novak Djokovic are text buddies?
In a major revelation, much to the joy of cricket and tennis fans, the 24-time Grand Slam champion revealed that Kohli and him have been texting back and forth for a few years despite never meeting in person.
'It is really a privilege and honour to listen to him speak nicely about me. I obviously admire his career and achievements and all he has done,' the 36-year-old said, while speaking to Indian tennis star Somdev Devvarman.
Responding to the Serb's revelation, the Indian cricket legend explained how their online friendship took shape.
'I got in touch with Novak very organically. I was just looking at his profile once on Instagram and pressed on the message button, thought I'll say 'hi',' Kohli said in a BCCI video.
But what the cricket star was not aware of was that Djoker had already messaged him.
After checking whether the account was legitimate or not, Kohli added that he replied to him and they have continued to exchange messages ever since.
The 35-year-old also extended wishes to Djokovic for the ongoing Australian Open adding that he hopes that the duo meets soon.
