Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios broke yet another tournaments rule at Wimbledon this year after walking onto the court wearing red trainers during his match against Brandon Nakashima on Centre Court on Monday, a match where he emerged victorious in five sets.
Kyrgios played the match in whites but after his 5-set victory over the American, he came back onto the court for the interview wearing red shoes and a red cap.
In response to his on-court behaviour, Kyrgios said that he does what he wants. He further said that he is not above the rules, he just likes wearing his Jordans.
The 27-year-old has already been fined two times in the tournament. He spat towards a fan during his first-round match and was fined in his third-round clash with Stefanos Tsitsipas for swearing. In total, he has been fined a total of $14,000 for the two offences.
Notably, Kyrgios has reached the first Wimbledon quarter-final of his career and will face Cristian Garín of Chile to book a spot in the semis.
