Top seed Iga Swiatek crashed out of Wimbledon 2023 after losing in three sets to Ukraine's Elina Svitolina on Centre Court.

The World No. 1, who won her 3rd French Open title last month, couldn't quite match Svitolina's intensity on the day, with the Ukrainian taking home the first set 7-5.

While Swiatek managed to force the match into a decider, courtesy of a tiebreak win in the second set, Svitolina was right on top of her game in the third and completed a 7-5, 6-7, 6-2 victory over the pre-tournament favourite.

Svitolina will next face Czech Republic's Marketa Vondrousova, who overcame No. 4 seed Jessica Pegula in the other quarterfinal.
