World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz out of Australian Open due to injury

World No. 1 Men's Tennis player Carlos Alcaraz has been ruled out of the Australian Open.

The 19-year-old suffered a leg injury in pre-season training and in his absence and won't be fit in time for the year-opening Grand Slam.

In his absence, his compatriot Rafael Nadal is set to be the top seed at Melbourne Park this year.

Alcaraz became the World No. 1 last year with his US Open triumph; he's the youngest No. 1 in men's Tennis history.
