Premier League: Kevin de Bruyne, Mahrez score as Manchester City beat Brentford 2-0

Cementing their top spot, Manchester City moved 12 points clear of Liverpool after registering an easy 2-0 win against Brentford on Wednesday at the Etihad Stadium.

Riyad Mahrez who struck from the penalty spot in the 40th minute scored his 8th goal in the last 7 games that he has played for the Citizens. Kevin de Bruyne scored the 2nd goal for Pep Guardiola's side in the 69th minute, handing Brentford their 5th consecutive loss.

This marked Manchester City's 100th clean sheet under Pep Guardiola who has led the team in 214 games so far. City hold the top spot on the table and Brentford are now 14th.
