Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) kicked off their IPL 2025 campaign with an emphatic victory against Rajasthan Royals, showcasing their batting prowess in a towering run-fest.

Ishan Kishan was the hero of the match, delivering a spectacular century, while Travis Head played a pivotal role with a ferocious innings. Together, they propelled SRH to an imposing total of 286/6, narrowly missing out on the unprecedented 300-run mark due to a few late-order wickets.

Anticipation is already building for the Sunrisers' next clash on April 17, when legendary South African fast bowler Dale Steyn has boldly predicted SRH will make history by breaching the elusive 300-run barrier.

Steyn teased fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, stating, "Small prediction. April 17 we'll see the first 300 in IPL. Who knows, I might even be there to see it happen."

History suggests SRH is more than capable.

In their last encounter with Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers amassed 277/3, with Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Heinrich Klaasen in scintillating form, smashing a collective 17 sixes. Despite a spirited chase, Mumbai ultimately fell short by 31 runs.

SRH's commanding performance against Rajasthan was characterized by fearless batting, which left Sunrisers captain Pat Cummins relieved to be aligned with such an explosive side.

Reflecting on the match, Cummins expressed his gratitude for not having to bowl against his formidable teammates.

The current IPL season has witnessed SRH's blitzkrieg approach, dismantling any bowling attack regardless of conditions.

The Royals succumbed to this relentless onslaught on Sunrisers' home turf, as the hosts dictating the game's rhythm with commanding authority. This dynamic display culminated in a staggering total that the Royals couldn't match, succumbing to a 44-run defeat.

Cummins, during the post-match presentation, lauded the batting exploits of his team, saying, "I wouldn't want to bowl to our boys. Unbelievable. That was scary.

You know it's going to be tough for the bowlers, but when you post such a massive score, sometimes one over is all it takes to swing the match."

As Sunrisers Hyderabad continue to entertain and dominate, all eyes will be on their upcoming clash with Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium, where history might just be made with a 300-run benchmark in sight.
