The BCCI on Monday announced India's 15-member squad for T20 World Cup 2022. There were no major changes as Rohit Sharma will lead the team with KL Rahul as his deputy.
Though the batting line-up remains similar to the one that went to the Asia Cup, many expected Sanju Samson to make the cut. But the selectors went ahead with Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik as the two keepers.
There were a few changes in the bowling department as Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel made a comeback. Ravindra Jadeja missed out due to an injury while an out-of-form Avesh Khan was dropped. Surprisingly, Mohammed Shami once again missed out but was on the standby players' list along with Shreyas Iyer, Ravi Bishnoi, Deepak Chahar.
India will open it's T20 World Cup campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on October 23 in Melbourne.
