Compliments came flooding in for Suryakumar Yadav who yet again with his unbeaten 61 runs in just 25 balls lit the stadium during India’s 71-run win against Zimbabwe during the final Group 2 game at T20 World Cup 2022. Indian head coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Rohit Sharma too joined in appreciating SKY’s abilities with the bat.

While an all-impressed Rahul Dravid called the prolific batter the best batsman in the T20I world, Rohit Sharma said that the dugout is at ease when he is on the crease.

'The dugout can really be at ease when he bats, and he's shown a lot of composure when he's batted. We expected this from him, and he's gone from strength to strength,' Rohit said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

During his superb innings, Suryakumar who is currently ruling the T20I Men’s batting chart achieved yet another feat. SKY became the first batsman in India to complete one thousand runs in T20 International this year. He also became the second batsman in the world to accomplish over 1000 runs after Mohd Rizwan. So far in 2022, the star Indian batter has scored 1,026 runs in 28 matches at an average of 44 and strike rate of 186, these include 9 fifties and a century.

‘He is incredible that’s why he is the no. 1 batter across the world. His consistency in the format is not easy to come by. He is unequivocal in his processes and tactics and puts in a lot of hard work. He has been phenomenal for Team India, he is just a joy to watch!’, Rahul Dravid said in the post-match presentation.
