T20 World Cup 2022 Namibia full schedule : Namibia continued their superb form from the previous edition of the T20 World Cup and defeated Sri Lanka in the first match of the qualifier in the ongoing edition at Kardinia Park, Geelong on Sunday, October 16. The African nation will play its next match against the Netherlands on October 18 at the same venue where it registered its first victory in ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
Batting first, Namibia scored 163-7 in 20 overs as Jan Frylinck and JJ Smit went hammer and tongs in death overs. Smit remained unbeaten on 16-ball 31.
Chasing a 164-run target, the Asian Champions were never in chase, losing 4 wickets at the score of 40. Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Dasun Shanaka tried to steer the innings but both fell in the 20s.
With the win, Namibia are just one win away from the Super 12 qualification
Namibia are clubbed in Group A, along with Sri Lanka, Netherlands and United Arab Emirates. The top two teams in the group will qualify for the Super 12 round, starting October 22.
