New Zealand T20 World Cup 2022 Full Schedule : Last edition's finalists New Zealand will begin their ICC T20 World Cup 2022 campaign against defending champions & hosts Australia in a Super 12 match on October 22 at Sydney Cricket Ground.
Kane Williamson's side is placed in Group 1 along with Afghanistan, England, and Australia while two more teams will join the group after the qualifying round.
The Kiwis have been in tremendous form in the shortest format this year, losing only three T20 matches. But it's also true that their victories have mostly come against the likes of Ireland, Scotland & the Netherlands.
Coming to the team dynamics, spinners -- Ish Sodhi, Mitchell Santner and Michael Bracewell -- have emerged as the biggest match-winners for New Zealand, with the trio bagging 50+ wickets between them this year. They also have the experienced duo of Trent Boult and Tim Southee, who could rock any batting line-up in the middle with their swing.
There will also be eyes on their opening combination and whether Martin Guptill gets to play at the top of the order or not. In the tri-series against Pakistan & Bangladesh, the Black Caps preferred the pair of Finn Allen & Devon Conway as their openers.
