Pakistan cricket team will look to shed the disappointment of the 2021 edition of the World Cup when Babar Azam's men start their campaign against arch-rivals India on Super Sunday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
The Men In Green have produced some high-quality performances in the shortest format over the past couple of years and will be eyeing their second T20 World Cup title.
One of the major reasons for Pakistan's success in the recent past has been their openers -- Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.
But Pakistan's over-dependence on Babar & Rizwan and lack of experience in middle-order could also bring about their downfall at the same time. In order to provide some stability to their middle-order, the management has added Fakhar Zaman to the main squad as a replacement for the injured Usman Qadir.
On the bowling front, the Men In Green have received a massive boost in the form of their spearhead Shaheen Afridi, who returns to the side after missing the Asia Cup due to injury. Shaheen along with Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah make for a lethal pace battery.
In the spin department, Pakistan have two world-class spinners in Mohammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan, who can also use the long handle to great effect.
Babar Azam's men are placed in Group 2 along with Bangladesh, South Africa, and India and two more teams will join them after the qualifiers.
Dangerous player to watch
Mohammad Rizwan
He is one of the most consistent run-scorer for Pakistan.
At 52.34, he has the highest average in T20I cricket.
In 73 T20Is, he has amassed 2460 runs, including one century and 22 fifties.
