South Africa T20 World Cup 2022 Full Schedule : South Africa are once again going to be a formidable unit and they'll be desperately looking to shed their chokers tag in the marquee event in Australia. Even in the 2021 T20 World Cup, they won four of their five group matches but still failed to qualify for the semis due to an inferior net run rate.
The Proteas will begin their campaign in the Super 12 stage on October 24 at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart. They are clubbed in Group B alongside India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and two other teams that will be confirmed after the qualifying round.
From explosive openers in Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks to hard-hitting batters such as Rilee Rossouw and David Miller in the middle-order, the Proteas have all the power in their batting line-up.
The presence of a lethal pace attack should also hold them in good stead but they would need Kagiso Rabada to shepherd the pacers who were put under the pump against India recently. And whether they have learned from the experience and can withstand the pressure Down Under, remains to be seen.
However, their major cause of concern has been the form of their captain Temba Bavuma, who scored only three runs in the three T20Is against India, including two ducks. While there's Reeza Hendricks who has been in great nick, dropping the captain for him seems rather improbable.
