Another blockbuster Sunday will be on the cards when Team India and South Africa lock horns in a much-anticipated Group 2 match in Perth at the T20 World Cup 2022.

On the back of two good victories and having beaten the Proteas at home just before entering the marquee event, Rohit Sharma's men will be oozing confidence against South Africa.

With the skipper returning to form with a sublime 50 in India's previous game against the Netherlands and Virat Kohli imposing himself with back-to-back 50s, Team India has their batting sorted. The only concern, however, is KL Rahul who is yet to fire in the ongoing tournament. Batting Coach Vikram Rathour, on the eve of the South Africa game, backed the opener and said, 'KL Rahul cannot be dropped on the basis of 2 bad innings and every player has his own way of playing and constituting their innings. A good partnership is one where each one complements the other. If Rahul is in good form then he can also be the aggressor'

With Bhuvneshwar Kumar wreaking havoc with the new ball, Arshdeep Singh being the nemesis at the death, and Shami breaking partnerships in the middle so far, the Men in Blue look fear-inspiring. The team will now look to strengthen its top spot with a third straight win in the super 12s.

On the other hand are the Temba Bavuma-led Proteas, who could have had the same points in the table as India, but their chances were marred after rain spoiled their plans during the Zimbabwe game. They, however, registered a resounding 104-run win against Bangladesh to claim the 2nd spot on the points table. While a revitalised South Africa have an intimidating bowling lineup and in-form batters like Quinton de Kock and Rilee Rossouw, history still favours India.

In the 5 meetings in the T20 World Cup, the Men in Blue have won 4 and have lost only 1, that too, in 2009.
