Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi hit out at former Pakistan cricketers after reaching the semi-finals of T20 World Cup 2022.

The Men in Green were written off by many experts and ex-cricketers after they lost both of their opening games vs India and Zimbabwe. But in a unique turn of events, Netherlands upset South Africa and Pakistan beat Bangladesh to reach the semis.

Post that, Afridi in a press conference said that he sometimes feels that Pakistan's top cricketers need to support them at their difficult time, and not when they reach the semi-finals or final. Team needs support when they lose. We won because of the fans' prayers and their support,” Shaheen said.

Many former Pakistan cricketers had vented their anger on the Babar Azam-led side for a poor start to the tournament. Shoaib Akhtar even went on to slam the PCB and said that this will always be the result if the team did not have elite mentality.
