On a day when Team India squad led by Rohit Sharma for T20 World Cup 2024 was announced and Hardik Pandya was appointed as his deputy, the two had a forgettable outing in Mumbai Indians' IPL 2024 match against the Lucknow Super Giants.

While birthday boy Rohit was out for 4 in the second over, the MI skipper was dismissed for a golden duck.

Once the pillars of Mumbai's batting line-up, both Rohit and Hardik have failed to live up to their billing in this season of the IPL.

Despite a hundred earlier on, Rohit has managed to score 315 runs in 10 innings so far at an average of 35. Moreover, he has scored just 54 runs in his last 4 innings.

On the other hand, Hardik has had a miserable tournament and has managed to score just 197 runs in as many outings. His average of 21.8 is also below par. He has not been impressive with the ball either.

With no sign of the Hitman and the new skipper not firing, no wonder why the Mumbai Indians have had a miserable IPL 2024.

However, Team India fans would hope that both Rohit and Hardik find their mojos back in the remaining 4 games as the two are pivotal for India's chances at the T20 World Cup.
