Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar believes Team India desperately need their captain Rohit Sharma to fire with the bat.
Rohit, who only made 4 against Pakistan, only has a solitary fifty from his last 10 T20I innings - a score of 72 he made against Sri Lanka in a losing cause in the Asia Cup.
In fact, when you look at his last 15 innings in the format, he has only 2 scores of fifty-plus.
And former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar has said that Rohit's form is a major concern for the Men in Blue.
Speaking to India Today, Gavaskar said: "The only concern really has been that Rohit Sharma of late has not quite scored with the same capability. I think if he gets going, it really makes people’s life really easy for people to follow."
Gavaskar further stated that providing a good platform is a necessity and India cannot afford to be 31/4 again, highlighting how Rohit as an opener has to play a crucial role in proving a much better platform for the batsmen down the order.
