Team India's trip to Perth ahead of the T20 World Cup finished with a defeat, with the Men in Blue losing the 2nd warm-up match to Western Australia XI by 36 runs.

Having rested Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav & Yuzvendra Chahal for the game, India opted to bowl with KL Rahul captaining the side even with Rohit Sharma in the team.

WA XI got off to a great start, with D'Arcy Short & Nick Hobson both scoring fifties but India fought back through Ravichandran Ashwin & Harshal Patel, who picked up 3 & 2 wickets respectively as the home side finished on 168/8.

In reply, Rohit Sharma didn't bat and while KL Rahul made 74 off 55, everyone else struggled. Hardik Pandya's 17 was the next-best score for an Indian batter as Team India could only garner 132/8 from their 20 overs.

The visitors will now shift base to Brisbane, where they'll face Australia & New Zealand in the official warm-up matches before their blockbuster T20 World Cup opener against Pakistan on October 23.
