The Delhi Capitals came out as comfortable winners in their opening WPL encounter as they beat the Royal Challengers Bangalore by 60 runs at the Brabourne Stadium on Sunday.
Put into bat, DC had a blistering start to their innings with openers Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning smashing a half-century each.
RCB's Heather Knight removed both Lanning (72) and Shafali (84) and gave RCB some sort of relief.
However, Marizanne Kapp smashed 39 runs to take her side to a massive total of 223 in the end.
Chasing which, RCB did have a good start to their chase with skipper Smriti Mandhana (34) and Sophie Devine (14) taking charge of the innings.
However, Alice Capsey removed the openers, followed by Tara Norris who took an impressive five-wicket haul which eventually restricted RCB at 163/8 in the end.
