WPL 2023: BCCI announces full schedule, Mumbai Indians to face Gujarat Giants in opening match

A day after the WPL 2023 Auction, the BCCI announced the schedule for the inaugural edition that begins on March 4.

In the opening encounter, Mumbai Indians will face the Gujarat Giants at the DY Patil Stadium.

The WPL will have 22 matches in total, 20 league matches + 2 Playoff games that include the Eliminator & the Final. Top 3 teams will qualify for the knockouts, with the top team directly gaining entry into the final.

There will be a total of 4 double-headers, with the afternoon games starting at 3:30 pm IST. All the evening encounters will begin at 7:30 PM IST. DY Patil Stadium & Brabourne Stadium will host 11 matches each. 

The Eliminator will be played at the DY Patil Stadium on March 24. The final will be held at Brabourne on March 26.
