India qualified for their second successive World Test Championship final as New Zealand handed Sri Lanka a thrilling 2-wicket defeat in the 1st Test of their 2-match series.
The Men in Blue will now face Australia in the WTC final which will be held at The Oval, London starting June 7th. The much-awaited result came before India's final Test against Australia concluded.
Pat Cummins' side qualified for the final of the marquee event after registering a thumping 9-wicket win in the 3rd Test against India.
To make it to the summit clash in place of India, Sri Lanka were required to win the 2-match series in New Zealand 2-0, they, however, faltered against the hosts in Christchurch.

India on the other hand needed to win at least 3 games of the 4-match Border Gavaskar Trophy to directly qualify for the final.
