Mamata Banerjee will take oath as the Chief Minister of West Bengal for the third term on May 5. Didi has been unanimously elected as the leader of the TMC’s Legislative Council at the party meet. Mamata's cabinet will take the oath on May 6.

Following the twist in Nandigram counting, Mamata Banerjee has filed a complaint with the Election commission and has demanded a recount. As per India's Constitution, Mamata Banerjee can continue to be the chief minister for the next six months without being elected from any constituency.

West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar has also expressed concern about reports of post-poll violence in the state. He has asked the DGP of West Bengal police to take steps to restore law and order in the state.
