The very rare Brahma Kamal flower, which is known to bloom only after sunset and just once a year, was spotted in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district. The state flower of Uttarakhand, Brahma Kamal,takes two hours to bloom to about eight inches in diameter. It is believed to be a symbol of good luck. The Uttarakhand government is working to conserve the rare flower, which has great medicinal value.
