Sunil Chhetri led from the front as India clinched a record 8th SAFF Championship by thrashing Nepal 3-0 the final on Saturday.
After a goalless first half, Sunil Chhetri broke the deadlock by putting India ahead in the 49th minute. Suresh Singh doubled the lead soon after before Sahal Abdul Samad came off the bench to seal the game in injury time.
Chhetri ended the SAFF Championship with 5 goals, the most in the tournament. He is now level with Lionel Messi on 80 international goals.
