Sun light is the best source of vitamin D but there are times when getting enough exposure to the sun may be problematic. That is when these foods which are extremely rich sources of vitamin D come in handy!

Vitamin D is very essential for bone health and calcium absorption in the body.

Fatty fish and seafood are loaded with vitamin D. The exact content of the vitamin present varies from the type of seafood you are consuming. Seafood is also rich in Omega-3 fatty acids which are excellent for the health of the heart.

Stock up on mushrooms! They are the only plant-based source of vitamin D. Like human beings, mushrooms produce vitamin D when exposed to sunlight.

Egg yolks for breakfast? yes please! If you're looking for a simple yet effective way of boosting your vitamin D levels, Egg yolks are your answer.

Certain fortified foods like orange juice, tofu and cow's milk can also be added to your diet to increase your vitamin D content.
