A sweet shop based in Surat has unveiled a gold sweet named 'Gold Ghari' ahead of Chandi Padvo festival. The festival falls a day after Sharad Poornima and is an occasion when Surtis enjoy a popular local variety of sweet named Ghari.
The 'Gold Ghari' will be sold at ₹9,000 per kg. The normal ghari is available at ₹660-820 per kg.
The shop's owner told news agency ANI, 'Gold is considered a beneficial metal in Ayurveda.' It has been three days since its launch and while the sale is lower than expected, they expect it to pick up in the coming days.
