Pallakonda Raju, the 30-year-old lone suspect in the rape and murder of a 6-year-old girl in Hyderabad, was found dead on a railway track on Thursday amid a manhunt by the police since past five days.
Raju was absconding since the night neighbours found the six-year-old girl’s body wrapped in a bedsheet in his house. The police had announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh on him and had issued multiple photographs of the suspects with possible disguises he could have adopted to evade police.
On Thursday, Raju’s body was found on the railway tracks near Ghanpur Station in Jangaon district in Telangana with witnesses saying that he jumped in front of a speedy train.
On Tuesday, Labour Minister Malla Reddy had said that the suspect should be killed in an encounter as he didn’t deserve to live.
