Riots broke out in Swedish town of Malmo when far-right activists engaged in anti-Islamic activities, police said. The riots reportedly started right after Rasmus Paludan, leader of Danish far-right political party, Hard Line, was denied permission to hold a supposedly anti-Muslim rally in Malmo and was stopped at the Swedish border.

A member of the ‘Stram Kurs’ group allegedly burnt a copy of the Quran as a part of an anti-Islam protest which took place in the city, following the arrest of one Rasmus Paludan.

About 300 people were on the streets of Malmo, with protesters setting car tires on fire and throwing objects at police officers, according to police and local media.
