Sri Lanka started off the Super 12 stage of their T20 World Cup 2021 campaign with a thrilling 5-wicket win vs Bangladesh on Sunday.
Batting first, Mohammad Naim gave Bangladesh a good start with a solid 62. But it was Mushfiqur Rahim's unbeaten 37-ball-57 that powered the Bangla Tigers to 171/4. Chasing which, Sri Lanka lost Kusal Perera for just 1 but Charith Asalanka stood tall with 80 not out. Bhanuka Rajapaksa too smashed 53 as The Lankans crossed the finish line with 7 balls to spare.
This is Sri Lanka's fourth consecutive win in the tournament, having come out of the first round with a 100 percent record.
