Keeping their World Cup chase alive, defending champions West Indies edged out Bangladesh by 3 runs on Friday at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in their World T20 super 12 match.
Sent in to bat first, Windies' batting line-up once again failed to perform. However, their lower order saved the day. Nicholas Pooran was the highest scorer for his side with a quick 40 off 22. Jason Holder who played his first World T20 match this season, too helped his side with a stunning unbeaten 15 off 5.
Despite Liton Das and Mahmudullah's efforts, Bangladesh failed to chase the 143-run target as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. With 44 in 43 balls, Das was the highest scorer for his side. Bangladesh's campaign has been hit hard, as the team hasn't won a single Super 12 game so far.
