The Taliban have assured Sikhs and Hindus stranded in Afghanistan of their safety.

Akali Dal spokesperson Manjinder Singh Sirsa shared a video statement from the head of a Kabul gurudwara saying that a team of Taliban leaders visited a gurudwara and assured the members of the community that they have nothing to fear.

The same video was also tweeted by Taliban Political Office spokesperson M Naeem.

The video shows Taliban leaders visiting a gurudwara and speaking to Sikhs who have taken refuge there after the fall of Kabul.

Reports said that around 200 Sikhs were living in a gurudwara in Kabul after the Taliban took over. Punjab CM Captain Amarinder had also called for immediate evacuation of the Sikhs from Kabul.
