Air India is adopting algorithm-driven software to update its decades-old manual pricing system, aiming to drive revenue growth.
The move is part of the carrier's major modernisation efforts under new owner Tata Group, which includes a complete overhaul of existing processes and the integration of various Tata-related airlines.
CEO Campbell Wilson said the carrier was taking a clean-slate approach in select areas, such as technology, enabling it to tap into AI and other innovative tools as it seeks to recapture lost market share from rivals.
The shift enables the carrier to adopt a modern "revenue management" software designed to anticipate passenger demand and set the optimal ticket price, boosting revenue per flight.
