AMD has unveiled its new line of Ryzen 7000 mobile CPUs for laptops, featuring Zen 4, Zen 3 Plus, Zen 3, and Zen 2 architecture. The standout is the Zen 4 Ryzen 9 7945HX, with 16 cores, 32 threads, frequencies of 2.2-5.4 GHz, 80MB cache, and 55-75 watt TDP.
The top series of Ryzen 7000 CPUs, the 7045 series, will likely be included in high-end gaming laptops from Alienware, Asus, and Lenovo this year. These include the m16 and m18 from Alienware, the ROG Strix from Asus, and Lenovo's Legion line.
AMD's Ryzen 7000 CPU line also includes the Zen 4-based 7040 series, which includes the Ryzen 9 7940HS and Ryzen 7 7840HS with 8 cores, 16 threads, boost speeds of up to 5.2 GHz, and 34-45 watt TDP. The Zen 3+ 7035 series is marketed as having "incredible battery life," while the Zen 3 7030 series is said to have "proven great battery life." The first 7040 laptops are expected to be released in March 2023, with the 7045 series set to launch in February.
