Nanotech company Somalytics showcased its sleep tracking device called SomaSleep at CES 2023.
It is a lightweight sleep mask that uses small, paper-thin capacitive sensors called SomaCap to track eye movements, including rapid eye movements that occur during REM sleep. The sensors are highly sensitive and can provide insights into a person's sleeping patterns and overall sleep quality.
The information is delivered through a mobile app and can be shared with a doctor. The mask has a small battery that lasts for eight hours and does not cause overheating. Somalytics plans to use its sensors for other applications such as human-machine interaction technology, wearables, and industrial safety. The SomaSleep mask will be available for purchase in December 2023 for $199
