Bandai Namco’s Elden Ring was awarded the Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2022. The event was held in Los Angeles.
For those unaware, Elden Ring is a third-person action role-playing game where combat and exploration are the main game concepts. Players of the game direct a customisable character on a quest to fix the Elden Ring and take over as the new Elden Lord.
The game is available on all major platforms including PC, Xbox and PlayStation.
At The Game Awards 2022, other winners included Stray, which won the best indie game, Marvel Snap, which won the best mobile game, Bayonetta 3, which won best action game, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, which won best simulation and strategy game, and Gran Turismo 7, which won best sports and racing game.
PlayStation Studios, often known as Sony Interactive Entertainment, become the publisher to beat with seven awards. Also, thanks solely to Elden Ring, Nintendo and Bandai Namco were tied for second place with four awards each.
