Realme Narzo 60 Pro 5G review: 1TB storage on a budget!

Realme’s Narzo Pro 5G sub-brand is going premium. Just look at this new Narzo 60 Pro, you’ve never seen a curved display or a vegan leather back or 1TB of storage on a Narzo device, have you?

Now, it's time to push this phone to its limits and see what it's truly capable of.

One glimpse at the Narzo 60 Pro and you know that there's a design theme going on with Realme’s new offerings.

It comes with a now-familiar circular camera island. It does look good from a distance, but a closer inspection will reveal a hollow camera circle on the left side, which kind of takes away from the premium feel. However, the phone does not feel top heavy and is pretty well balanced in hand.

Anyway, the soft and grippy vegan leather back will be appreciated by everyone, even if this Mars Orange colour divides opinions.

At the front, the 61 degree display curvature and these slim display bezels do make the Narzo 60 Pro feel quite premium, however.

The 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display on this smartphone does have an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz, and it surely is one of this phone’s highlights.

The colours appear quite vivid on this display, and its sunlight legibility is quite great for the price.

The display also comes with Widevine L1 and HDR10+ certification.

Utility

The Narzo 60 Pro is a 5G-enabled dual SIM smartphone. It has neither expandable storage nor a headphone jack.

The former is kind of addressed by Realme, as this phone is available with up to 1TB of internal storage, which is insane in this segment.

Just imagine the number of films and games you could amass with that kind of storage capacity.

The phone gets an in-display optical fingerprint reader, which in my experience worked fine.

There are also stereo speakers on this smartphone which can get quite loud and make up for a good content watching experience.

Realme Narzo 60 Pro 5G Performance & Software

This phone runs on Realme UI 4, built on top of Android 13.

As you know, Realme UI 4 has been notorious in the past for its ads and bloatware. But, I’m happy to report that Realme has addressed a lot of things on this phone.

First up, the number of pre-installed apps are fewer, but these annoying Hot Apps and Games folders are still there, and you still cannot get rid of them.

But, thankfully, those intrusive ads in the app drawer are gone. Also, everytime you install a new app, this screen pops up, but it does not show ads now. However, a few UI ads are still there.

When it comes to raw performance, the Dimensity 7050 processor on the Narzo 60 Pro is right on par with what you'd expect in its segment. It effortlessly handles all your day-to-day tasks, ensuring a snappy and responsive user interface.

And when it's time for some gaming action, this processor doesn't disappoint. For instance, it can play Call of Duty at max frame rate.

Cameras

You get two rear cameras on the Narzo 60 Pro. Well actually, it's just one since the second one is a depth sensor.

This 100MP main camera produces some pretty good shots for the price. Even night time shots are bright with decent levels of details. This sensor also has OIS, but that does not work in videos.

Not a fan of brands proudly printing OIS on the phone when its applications are limited.

As for the 16MP front camera, it’s fine, but it has the tendency to overexpose photos in certain scenarios.

Realme Narzo 60 Pro 5G Battery Life

Equipped with a generous 5,000mAh battery, the Narzo 60 Pro offers an impressive battery life that can easily last through a full day of mixed usage.

And the cherry on top is its 67W fast charging speed. In less than an hour, you'll have a fully charged battery at your disposal, which is very convenient I must say.

Verdict

The Narzo 60 Pro has a lot of positives, from its strikingly stylish design to its impressive battery endurance and potent performance.

Plus, with a colossal 1TB of storage, you never have to worry about running out of space.

However, no phone is without its shortcomings. The Narzo 60 Pro's Achilles heel lies in its average cameras.

Still, it strikes a good balance between aesthetics and functionality, making it a compelling choice for those looking for a well-rounded smartphone.
