Google has unleashed its rival to ChatGPT. The AI-powered chatbot service is called Bard, and it is powered by Google’s LaMDA technology that was unveiled two years ago.
Bard has the ability to seek knowledge based on user responses and other information available on the web.
Google is releasing Bard initially with its lightweight model version of LaMDA, since a smaller model requires significantly less computing power, enabling the company to scale to more users, allowing for more feedback.
Google claims that it will combine external feedback with its own internal testing to make sure Bard’s responses meet a high bar for quality, safety and groundedness.
